Creative Labs: Audio Adapters, Sound Cards and Display Adapters
Creative Labs (Singapore & California, USA) designs and markets sound cards and webcam devices for PCs and laptops, in addition to supplying chips for motherboard manufacturers. They're best known for their SoundBlaster line of sound cards for desktop computers, as well as their multichannel surround sound processing chips. Their cards have become the defacto standard for PC audio, and are sold individually on an "OEM" basis or as part of a PC configuration from large computer manufacturers like Dell, HP, Sony and others.
Over the years, Creative Labs has released driver files for their audio products on a fairly regular basis as new operating systems and patches were released by Microsoft. They have also released a number of new add-on cards that connect to the latest internal PC slots, most recently PCI-X.
